Pre-Move Survey
Prior to any move, a pre-move survey allows us to prepare the technical aspects of your move. The pre-move survey will establish:
- The volume of the consignment
- The access for vehicles and parking restrictions
- Your timetable including moving out dates and your required delivery date
- Contact addresses and telephone numbers at origin and destination
- The access at destination (if known)
- Any special requirements or concerns you may have
Packing
On the packing day, the Liftvan packing team will arrive on time and will carefully pack each item listed on the pre-move survey.
The packing material and the packing methods used conform to the FIDI-FAIM and HHFAA quality standard. Quality packing is the key to a successful move. So to accomplish a damage-free move throughout our operations, 50% of packing materials are produced and sourced from the USA. Specific packaging is used for each kind of goods; each type is perfectly adapted to each type of item for which it was designed for such as furniture, cloths, paintings, books, mattress etc. We can also pack works of art, pianos and other goods by creating special crates for them.
Our many permanent collaborators are at the core of our knowledge and are the guarantee of a careful PACKING and RESPECTFULLNESS of our customer’s requirements.
Forwarding and Co ordination
Following the survey, consideration will have been given to the appropriate method and routing for each shipment to achieve maximum efficiency and cost, bearing in mind the individual requirements. Schedules will be planned, space will be reserved on appropriate vessels or flights, and documentation and other details will be handled.
Options:
- Exclusive sea freight:
Shipments are conveyed in steel containers or lift vans shipped with reliable shipping lines providing modern equipment and vessels.
- Groupage container:
Your packed and labelled goods share container space with other liftvan customers' goods. It is the most cost-efficient solution for small shipments.
- Air freight:
It is the best solution if you need the shipment to arrive without much delay.
With all these options Liftvan stands firm to negotiate competitive tariffs.
Delivery and Customs Formalities
Irrespective of the mode of transport used Liftvan Logistics or our agent will advise the executive within two days from the day the shipment is booked as to an estimated arrival date. The representative will keep the client informed in regard to any changes to the booking or other schedule alterations.
The destination service, under full control of Liftvan Logistics include at minimum services like customs clearance, transport services like customs clearance, transport to residence, delivery to specific rooms, unwrapping of furniture, unpacking of boxes, setting up of Basic dismantled furniture, removal and return of container to terminal.
Storage
Liftvan through it global network is able to provide you with both local (Ghanaian) and international storage options on both short and long term basis
a) Short-term storage in the event you have to delay the forwarding or delivery of your consignment, or
b) Long-term storage for those items you are unable to ship (due to a shortage of space or if some of the items or electrical devices cannot be used in your country of destination).
Insurance
Liftvan is able to arrange risks insurance protection for your household goods, personal effects and automobiles moving by land, sea and air. This policy offers you "all risks" coverage on a door to door basis subject to the terms and conditions.
After Sales Support
Our Intranet tracking system offers our clients the convenience of being able to know the status of their shipment online from anywhere in the world, as well as being able to send queries or requests regarding their shipment.
